and seasoned performer," Nashville City Paper.
Marthia is a Virginia Beach native. She is a local girl on her way to
the big time.

on Sirius Satellite Radio, Country Weekly, the New York Times, the Denver
Post, Power Source Magazine, and the Dallas Morning News to name a few.
Music has always been in Marthia's blood. Ms. Sides, just like
her grandmother, is a trained professional opera singer. Her great grandmother
was a child Vaudeville star and her grandfather was the chief engineer
for American Studios in the 60's where Elvis, among many other artists
recorded. "As a child I was exposed to so many different types of music.
Music is the life and breath of me. Someone once told me country music
is not something you learn- it's something inside you. There's nothing
like country music for the emotions, the drama," Marthia says. As Marthia's
music receives rave reviews, she tours the country presenting a live show
with all of the emotion and feeling that can only be found in her music.
Traditional Country Music magazine writes: "The songs she has selected
to make this CD are all just great. This is a step away from the "normal"
Nashville sound. There's too much over production in Nashville these days,
and not enough of the real thing. So what is the real thing, you ask, in
this case it's Marthia."
