The Flatland Bluegrass Band is an exciting Central Virginia Bluegrass Band based in the Richmond area. They are now one of the region's most popular Bluegrass bands. The Flatland Bluegrass Band's members are veteran musicians who have many years of on-stage musical experience. They have performed from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay, and from Northern to Southern Virginia. Through the years they have been chosen to play many of the top Bluegrass Festivals in the area. The tight harmonies and high-energy instrumentals make this an excellent group to entertain all ages with their mix of traditional & contemporary Bluegrass music as well as Bluegrass Gospel Music. The Band's current members are Randy Grigg, guitar and vocals; Karen Birdsong, mandolin and vocals; Bob Payne, mandolin and vocals; and Lance Seal, banjo and vocals. The band performs for private events as well as public functions. Through the years the Band has opened for a number of Nashville musicians and played at many Bluegrass festivals with some of the top national Bluegrass acts.
