"How Things Came About"
or "How to Drink Too Much and Get a Band Goin' (If You're So Inclined)"
As told by Kenny

A couple of years ago a friend of mine said he wanted to get a band going and play some shows. I took this with a grain of salt as he says this occasionally, but he kept it up for a few weeks. I called Eric and Dave, as I had jammed with them both in separate bands and knew them to be cool guys who played well. They were interested so we made plans to meet and have a few drinks. These drinks were to be the first of many. The other fella didn't show up. Well by the time we got ourselves a practice place and got together to jam the other fella had lost interest, so we decided to kick it as it was. We figured finding a singer would only be a matter of time, we just didn't count on so much time. Several people came out and drank and sang for us, and good times were had by all, but nobody really was fitting in for whatever reason. One person didn't drink and shit so we knew he wouldn't work out.

I made a few half hearted attempts at singing but I'm too slack to do that. Why the hell do you think I play bass? Cause it's easy that's why. Much time went by with many nights of drinking and talking crap and good times were being had by all, followed by bad times from post-practice hangovers. We decided to play a few open-mics at a bar called Big Daddy'z courtesy of our friend Tim (bass player for The Doggs) who was playing in a band called Sevrence at the time. He plays with a bunch of other bands as well, a real band slut. Things went over pretty good considering the fact we didn't have a singer, and drunken open-mic fun was had by all. We took heart from these good times but still didn't find a singer.

Finally Tim turned us on to Travis, having heard him singing (of all things) karaoke at Grumpy's. In addition to being a band slut it turns out Tim's a band pimp as well. Travis hung out, drank with us and came back armed with his guitar, his amp and beer. We took this as a good sign. He digs NASCAR, Kevin Smith and a buncha other cool shit and he sings and he drinks and writes lyrics and plays guitar and engages in stupid drunken banter so he's wound up being our lead hollering guy. Good times are being had by all.

We play loud heavy rock and roll with a big metal influence and a bunch of badass guitar solos courtesy of Dave and Travis. It's real hip nowadays to call guitar solos "self indulgent" and "pointless". We consider this to be the opinion of talentless fucks who can't play guitar solos or people who are just trying to be cool. We don't care about that shit. So if you dig where we're comin' from, come check us out.

Good times will be had by all.
DreadLine is...

Kenny Andrews - Bass and Vocals
Dave Coleman - Guitar
