"DOWNLOAD" This

Virginia Beach's own hardcore/metal crossover band Download pulls influences from all walks of metal and hardcore. "We all listen to just about everything," says Travis Spaulding, rhythm guitarist for the band. "There's no elitists in this band. We all have our primary preference, but for the most part, we are all pretty open to the different styles of metal and hardcore." There is no one set influence for the band, but our range comes from the very beginning of extreme metal like Venom and Celtic Frost to crossover gods like Suicidal Tendencies and S.O.D. We all grew up on punk, especially the NYHC bands like Agnostic Front and Cro-mags." says Travis.

"There's a little something for everyone on our upcoming album We Only Bleed for Family," says Spaulding. "I think Vince Burke did a great job at capturing our sound." Vince Burke, also known as the guitarist for Beaten Back To Pure, runs Sniper Studio where Download recorded the CD. "Vince has a great ear for sound. He did such a great job that I was already thinking about the next record while we were working on this one," explains Travis. "I can't wait to work with him again on the next one." It'll be carried at Volume CD exchange, Skinnie's Records, Fuzion Ink, and select FYE stores.

Download has been in good spirits lately and for good reason. June 14th, 2008 the long anticipated album release of We Only Bleed for Family hits the scene being distributed locally at Volume CD Exchange, Skinnie's Records, Fuzion Ink and select FYE stores. They are also playing a headlining show the same day, Saturday June 14th, at the NORVA with long time friends Epoxy, Four To Nothing, Coldcast, and Rust. "We're really excited to play with all of these guys and to perform at the NORVA. It's a huge honor. We're close to all of the bands playing. It's going to be a killer show," replies Spaulding with enthusiasm. "It's our opportunity to show everyone how alive the metal scene is in the area." He explains on, "We're hitting the road this summer so we want to leave this area with a bang, and this show is it. We are excited to perform for the first time live a special tribute song to my best friend Jerry. We have been working hard on putting the finishing touches on it." If you're only going to see Download one time this summer, this is the show to see. All of the bands on this show are as professional as they come. I think people will actually forget that they are at a local show", says Travis.

Tickets for the June 14th show are available for $10 at www. ticketmaster. com, Kelly's Backstage Tavern, and the NORVA Box Office. If you want to avoid all of the convenience fees contact Download directly at www. myspace. com/downloadva, or at downloadva@yahoo.com they can hook you up with the tickets.
